Join Walden Media on Tuesday, December 11th as they celebrate the mystery and magic of The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep with their Student Writing Contest and Educator Photo Sweepstakes. Students and educators around the county will tap into their imaginations to create “eyewitness” reports and sightings of Crusoe, the Water Horse. One student will win a special screening of The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep in his/her community and one teacher will win a free trip to Scotland to visit Loch Ness, the beautiful setting of this magical story.
Student Writing Contest
Imagine if the Water Horse came to visit you. Where would you go? What would you do? Write a short story (500 words or less) highlighting Crusoe’s visit with you. Submit your story to enter a contest to win a free screening of The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep for up to 200 classmates, friends and family members.
Photo Sweepstakes
Create your own sighting of Crusoe by photographing an image of Crusoe on Tuesday, December 11, 2007. Template images of Crusoe are available online. Submit the photograph of Crusoe along with a brief description of the photo to Walden Media by Monday, December 17, 2007 and enter a sweepstakes to win a trip to Scotland to visit Loch Ness.
Photos and stories must be submitted by December 17th, 2007 to be eligible. We will post the winning story and photo as well as a selection of other entries on our web site.
All rules for the contest apply. For complete contest rules for the Student Writing Contest and the Educator Photo Sweepstakes, go to walden.com/waterhorsecontests.
Special thanks to VisitScotland for generously donating the trip to Scotland for the educator sweepstakes.
