It is exactly one year ago since the whole process started. My agent (ICM) had been on the phone to say that an American director called Jay Russell wanted to see me about a new film he was making called The Waterhorse. He had seen me in a film called Millions and had liked my performance so ICM sent the script to my mum and asked me to learn a couple of the scenes so I could audition for Mr Russell and his casting agent when he flew over to the UK in a few days.
