Film star Bean heaps praise on Gloucester City Council

He said “Gloucester is a great place to film and the people have really got behind us. It would be great to come back and film here in the future.”

His co-star, Danny Dyer, known for roles in Human Traffic and The Business, said: “We have enjoyed shooting ‘Outlaw’ in this historic city and the council must get a big thankyou for making things happen at such short notice.” Lennie James added: “People in the city have been very understanding about what we have needed and given us their time and use of facilities.” The decision to choose Gloucester as a location is another boost to the regeneration programme. Traffic engineers from the city and county councils have been working with the production team on the locations and resolving any traffic issues. It follows other recent productions including two Harry Potter films, ‘These Foolish Things’ starring Lauren Bacall and Anjelica Huston and ‘Amazing Grace’ starring Ioan Gruffudd and Albert Finney. The leader of the Council, Mark Hawthorne said the filming of key scenes in the production was a coup for the area. He added: “Gloucester is increasingly being seen as a ‘film friendly’ location and the benefits to the city are enormous. Film productions bring in large economic benefits to a variety of businesses ? and that is something we are keen to encourage.” [24dash.com]
