Gaelan Connell and Vanessa Hudgens on the Red Carpet at the Bandslam Premiere

Bandslam’s Gaelan Connell talks kissing Vanessa Hudgens, Aly Michalka

Gaelan Connell, a newcomer to the silver screen, and the leading role in the film Bandslam not only acted opposite High School Musical‘s Vanessa Hudgens and Aly & AJ‘s Aly Michalka, but he also shared a kiss on screen with each of them in the film. He was interviewed about it by Marc Malkin.

Bandslam Interviews with Aly Michalka, Vanessa Hudgens and Gaelan Connell

Bandslam features the talents of Aly Michalka (half of the duo Aly & AJ, now called 78violet), Vanessa Hudgens (of High School Musical fame) and newcomer Gaelan Connell. Seventeen Magazine sat down with each of them for interviews about the film, and the results are entertaining and down-to-earth. They all seem to have very level heads, and seem like they’d be fun friends to have.

Bandslam Review

I know that this review is about nine days early but I couldn’t wait. You might think I’m biased because I run a Walden Media fan site, but you are free to think what you want. I am honest about my feelings about movies, regardless of who makes them, and I will be no different here.

The film is about Will Burton, a boy that is troubled at school, but gets a fresh start at a new school where he makes some new friends and changes the lives of those he meets, as his life is changed for the better. He becomes the unwitting band manager for a high school band, as they prepare for the battle of the bands, called Bandslam.

Bandslam Trailer!

WILL BURTON (Gaelan Connell) is used to being bullied or completely ignored by his schoolmates, so when cool and popular former cheerleader CHARLOTTE BANKS (Alyson Michalka) starts inviting him to hang out with her, the quirky teenager is stunned and so is his doting single mom KAREN (Lisa Kudrow). Impressed by his eclectic knowledge of music, Charlotte, a gifted singer-songwriter, asks Will to manage her fledgling rock band. The goal: go head to head against her egotistical musician ex-boyfriend BEN (Ben Wheatley) at a regional battle-of-the-bands.

Lisa Kudrow and Liam Aiken join the cast of Will

Lisa Kudrow and Liam Aiken have come aboard to star in “Will,” the musical coming-of-age dramedy that Walden Media and Summit Entertainment will co-finance.

David Bowie also is in talks to join the cast, which includes Vanessa Hudgens, Aly Michalka and Scott Porter.
