Amazing Grace receives Truly Moving Picture Award

This year, 17 films and their “visionaries,” as they’re called by Heartland, will pick up a coveted Crystal Heart Award on Saturday at Conseco Fieldhouse, with the grand prize of $100,000 for best dramatic feature.
Michael Apted, director of “Amazing Grace,” is this year’s star filmmaker. His film, the opening-night movie at the IMAX Theater on Thursday, will receive a Truly Moving Picture Award.

Apted’s filmography includes apes (“Gorillas in the Mist”), James Bond (“The World is Not Enough”) and “Seven Up!,” a series revisiting a group of British citizens every seven years, which began when they were 7-year-olds. The latest, “49 Up,” is now in theaters.
