Tooth Fairy star Dwayne Johnson Discusses the New Movie

November 17th, 2009 by Paul Martin

Your character is a hockey player. Is being in movies that features sports important to you?

You bet. I just know how important sports was to me, and everything that sports and athletics taught me from the time I started doing gymnastics when I was a kid, which didn’t last very long, till the time I took martial arts and everything else. And I know the lessons that it taught me, and I’m aware of the impact that sports has on children’s lives, all around the world. So any time I’m able to implement that it’s just really, really a cool thing.

Was it difficult to play the tooth fairy?

It wasn’t difficult at all. I mean, it was a no brainer for me. The tooth fairy is part of our culture and it’s part of the wonderment of being a child and, and the beauty of growing up. The very first time that I was approached to play the tooth fairy, I loved it. I loved the idea number one, and because it’s a character that we haven’t seen come to life in movies before.

October 7th, 2009 by Paul Martin

Last spring Micheal Flaherty, President of Walden Media, visited Asbury College as part of its Engaging Culture weekend. As those who have met him know, he is a truly great man–full of wisdom, enthusiasm, real joy, and deep compassion.

While he was on campus, Devin Brown had the opportunity to ask him about Walden’s mission, where its name came from, and even what his favorite scene is. His response to these and other questions can be viewed in “An Interview with Micheal Flaherty” which has been posted at: Asbury.edu

There’s also a question and answer session about The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Tooth Fairy Trailer Online

October 3rd, 2009 by Paul Martin

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is starring in the upcoming film “Tooth Fairy” from 20th Century Fox and Walden Media. Walden Media tends to make great films that are very under-appreciated, and if the response to this trailer is anything to go by, it looks like another film doomed to low box office, based only on a trailer. Bandslam was one of the worst, if not THE worst, marketed films of 2009 and turned out to be far better than the trailer lets on. I’m hoping that this film turns out to be the same.
